Merlin Memorial Fund

Compassionate Care Fund

The first memorial fund, the Merlin Memorial Fund, was instituted by Sharon Baubles in memory of Ch. Caerleon's Imperial Elsinore, 1995-1999, who passed away after a brief battle with cardiac dysfunction.  Since then, other AWCA members have established funds in memory of their deceased dogs.  All of these funds have now been combined into one Compassionate Care Fund.

The Compassionate Care Fund is administered by the American Working Collie Association. This fund will help Collies belonging to owners faced with serious medical emergency veterinary bills--tests, surgeries, medications--beyond the ability of the owner to pay. The funds will be disbursed directly to veterinary practices.

Collie owners facing the serious illness of their Collies and inability to pay emergency veterinary bills may apply to the Compassionate Care Fund, regardless of whether they are members of AWCA.  Please address such requests to AWCA Director of Rescue Theresa Pottratz.  For information on how to contact Theresa, please email jccollie@att.net.
