UPDATE 4/23/03 on the Montana Collies

Statement by AWCA President Jean Levitt

*Permission to crosspost*

Linda Hughes, of the Humane Society of Cascade County and supervisor of the new Camp Collie II, happily announced today that the collies and other animals will soon be moving to Great Falls.  AWCA will assist in modifying the water supply for their new home and will provide additional supplies as needed.  We will keep you informed.

Linda Hughes spent the day at the signing ceremony in Helena for the strengthened animal cruelty bill, HB553.  This bill allows for a first offense felony in extreme deliberate cases.  Linda explained it has been a long, 5-year fight to accomplish this, and she is extremely pleased.

Calmly,

Jean Levitt, President AWCA

Lisa King, AWCA Director AWCA Rescue
