UPDATE 5/9/03 on the Montana Collies

Statement by AWCA President Jean Levitt

*Permission to crosspost*

ATTENTION!!!

The correct address for AWCA Blankets c/o CCGF, 4000 River Drive North, Great Falls, MT 59404, not 400, as originally announced.  The post office, UPS, FedEx have been informed in Great Falls in case some of you have already shipped blankets.

Don Hale, Undersheriff of Toole County, has made a special request.  He wants you to know:  “Now more than ever, Shelby needs your donations to both funds – AWCA and the Toole County Community Collie Rescue Fund.”  He emphasized, “Just because the animals have moved to Great Falls doesn’t mean Toole County’s financial responsibilities to them have ended.”  He went on to say, “The Shelby fund must pay between $15,000 and $18,000 per month for 24 hour, 7 days per week security for the animals.  The fund is also responsible for the monthly rental and all utilities of the building, plus supplies and equipment.”  The AWCA fund pays all medical bills plus supplies and equipment for the animals.  The only thing that has changed is the location of the animals.  Your continued donations to both funds are needed to ensure that the animals remain in the custody of the Toole County Sheriff’s Office until the courts determine their ultimate fate.
